Am I being tracked?

We take our customers’ privacy very seriously. We do not track your location or whereabouts. Only when you need our services and press the Blue OnStar Button, if your privacy setting is not enabled, your location details will be available to us to help you. In the event of a crash* or a Red button press for emergency*, the privacy setting even if on is overridden so we can get you the right help, even if you are unable to make a call yourself. 

 

Do note that if the privacy setting is on, even you will be unable to use services such as Vehicle Locate* from the app. 

How do I enable my privacy setting?

Simply press the White privacy button (to the left of the Blue button) down for 5 seconds to enable the privacy mode. Once enabled, you will notice in your in-head unit an icon that indicates no signal.  

When privacy mode is enabled, you will be unable to view your own vehicle location on the Vehicle Mobile App* and if you press the Blue button to request for Destination Download*, our Advisor* will be unable to assist. They may request you to disable the privacy option to be able to assist depending on your request. 

 

Only in the event of a crash* or a red button press for emergency*, the privacy setting even if on is overridden so we can get you the right help, even if you are unable to make a call yourself. Google Built-in services come with it’s own settings as per Google terms and conditions that you can choose to accept on usage.
